Christmas Wrap-Up

We had a nice Christmas around here. Christmas Eve, we did some cleaning, did some resting, then had a yummy dinner. Afterward, we went driving around to look at lights, then came home and watched The Polar Express. Zachary finally went to bed at midnight, then Santa came and delivered presents to Zach and Zoe.

Yesterday morning, Zoe woke up around 7:30 (or maybe Mommy woke up first), and we woke Zachary up around 8:30. We went downstairs to see what Santa brought, then leisurely opened all of our gifts. Zachary was so excited to receive a Nintendo DS and skateboard, and I got a nice little camera that takes video.

We had breakfast around 11:30, cleaned up a bit, and got dressed to head to Galveston. I don't know where the time went; we didn't leave until 2:15. It was really foggy driving in, so we really didn't get to see much of the damage from Hurricane Ike. We arrived at Darren's dad's around 3:30, and Sean and his family, as well as Darren's brother Mike and his family were there. We ate for what seemed like hours, hung out for a bit, and headed home around 7:30. We put Zoe to bed when we got home, Darren watched TV, and I played on the computer. Zach stayed up until 1:30, creating a mural for his room of Anakin Skywalker.

Today we are doing something very rare in our house: nothing at all. We have watched TV all day while the kids have played with their new toys. I did venture out to the grocery store to get supplies to make cheese fries, but besides that, we haven't left the house. We talked about going to the mall tonight, but I don't think anyone feels like going anywhere. It's so unusual for us to have nothing planned, and we are all enjoying it. I guess it's back to reality tomorrow.
