I'm Still Alive

I have no idea if anyone reads this thing, but I am still alive. With the end of school and a vacation to New England that started the day school got out, there has been no time to form coherent thoughts. We returned from our vacation yesterday, I completed my last work obligation until August 10th today, and now I'm a free woman. (unless you count the four-year-old who will be ever-present this summer) Anyway, I do plan to post in the next couple of days, so don't give up on me.

Hey, you don't know me, but I read one of your comments on dooce.com. The one about the kitten-sized roaches.

The reason why I'm commenting now is because my sister used to have a really bad roach problem in her house, and they're the kind that seem to be immuned to ANYTHING you put down to kill them. My grandmother told her to try mixing some boric acid with jelly or peanut butter and place some in her cabinets and such (in little yogurt lids, so the mixture wouldn't get on anything).

It worked pretty well for her. Instead of seeing millions in one day, the sightings were dramatically reduced to about 1 or 2 every few months.

I hope this works for you if you haven't already tried it.
