Just received this email

I just figured out how to do links, and Woodlands Online has set up an area of their website where residents can send information or pictures about Ike. The address is here. If you don't live here, hopefully you can find out how this area is doing that way. Also, I strongly recommend joining Twitter (pointing the finger at Mom and Natalie), and following chronhurricane, hurricaneike, trackingike, and redcross. That will give you constant updates from the TV stations and newspapers here.

It still hasn't started raining here, and I am surprised. I expect it any minute now.

  1. I'm so glad your FIL's in Louisiana! My boyfriend's family is up in The Woodlands too - his dad's not worried, his mom is. Considering they're even predicting floods, power outages and tornadoes up in Dallas (where my parents are), yeah, I'm a little worried too. Stay safe!!

P.S. Can I just say how much I love hearing "hunker down" on CNN and The Weather Channel? I've never heard that outside of Texas!

  2. Yeah, "hunker down" is definitely a Texas expression. I'm not worried about flooding here, but I am worried about all of our trees withstanding the wind. We have tons of windows, so we are sleeping in our windowless office tonight. I don't want to wake up tomorrow to a tree in the house.
